Close Up Radio Welcomes Back Holistic Practitioners Danniel Worthen Cullumber and Gvnage Mishipeshu of Willow Medela Wellness

West Jordan, UT - Willow Medela Wellness LLC, a rising star in the holistic wellness community, is making waves in Salt Lake City and beyond with a unique blend of indigenous healing practices and contemporary mental health strategies. Co-founded by Danniel Worthen Cullumber, LCSW and Gvnage Mishipeshu, Willow Medela Wellness is captivating clients with creative therapies, soulful workshops, and a refreshing approach to personal growth.

Danniel, an award-winning mental health clinician, and Gvnage, a noted indigenous healer and pet psychic, have joined forces to build a practice that honors ancient traditions while meeting today’s mental health needs. Their partnership is built upon deep respect for cultural roots, scientific understanding, and a shared belief in the innate wisdom of each individual.

Innovation Meets Tradition in Mindfulness

At Willow Medela Wellness, mindfulness is more than a buzzword. Danniel has developed a set of “masquerading coping skills,” which are quick, subtle techniques to regulate stress and emotions that can be used anywhere. Blending breathwork, hand mudras, and grounding exercises, these tools are designed to work in just 20 seconds. The approach invites clients to tune into their bodies and discover their personal “sweet spot” of calm, all while keeping self-care discreet and accessible.

“People want relief, and they want it fast,” Danniel explains. “I created these skills to be easy to learn and even easier to use. Even in the middle of a meeting or a difficult conversation, you can reset your nervous system and nobody will even know.” This method is especially valuable for trauma survivors and those living with anxiety or high-stress jobs, offering choices and a sense of safety when life feels overwhelming.

Healing Through Connection: Indigenous Wisdom in Practice

Gvnage brings a wealth of indigenous knowledge to Willow Medela’s offerings. Drawing on years of study with tribal mentors and healers, Gvnage weaves traditional practices into every session. From intuitive card readings and divination to animal communication and soul mapping, his sessions open new doors to self-understanding.

“My work is about reconnecting people with the natural rhythms of life,” explains Gvnage. “Whether I’m reading for a person or their pet, it’s all about listening, really listening, to what is needed in that moment. Sometimes, an animal’s behavior points to changes we need to make in our environment or daily routine. Other times, it’s about finding the courage to change the story we’ve inherited.”

Personalized Support, Wherever You Are

Danniel’s clinical background includes wraparound mental health services delivered in clients’  homes (an essential resource for those with limited mobility or transportation). By meeting clients in their natural environments, she is able to provide deeply personalized therapy that considers the whole ecosystem of each family.

“Seeing people in their own space changes the dynamic entirely,” Danniel shares. “It builds trust and helps tailor strategies for real-life challenges. This method is especially effective for children, adults with disabilities, and families seeking to reconnect.”

In addition, Willow Medela Wellness is gearing up for a series of workshops and retreats in 2026, including an immersive experience rooted in indigenous traditions. Participants will learn to make drums and rattles, practice mindfulness in nature, and explore the unique power of ancestral healing. These events promise authentic connection, skill-building, and plenty of opportunities for reflection and growth. Gvnage notes, “These workshops are not just about stepping away from the city, they’re about rediscovering who you are, connecting with the land, and learning skills you can bring back home.”

A Commitment to Education and Accessibility

Danniel and Gvnage are committed to sharing their knowledge freely. Clients and followers will soon be able to access instructional videos for Danniel’s 20-second coping skills via the Willow Medela Wellness website and newsletter. “We want these tools in the hands of as many people as possible,” Danniel says. “Self-regulation shouldn’t be reserved for therapy sessions. Everyone deserves access to practices that support well-being.”

Danniel’s efforts to advance mental health care have not gone unnoticed; she is set to receive the Excellence in Health Care Award at the upcoming Health 2.0 Conference at the Luxor in Las Vegas this April.
